The SLVU2.8 is a low voltage, low leakage current and ultra low capacitance TVS device designed for EOS and ESD
protecon of low voltage circuits commonly found in network and compung applicaons. This device can be placed
at the connector input or at the sensive IC component and also be used across a single ended data line for the pro-
tecon of a single line.
The SLVU2.8 device meets the IEC requirements of 61000-4-2 (ESD), 61000-4-4 (EFT) and 61000-4-5 (Surge). This de-
vice has a peak pulse power rang of 600 Was (8/20µs waveform) and is available in a SOT-23 package conguraon.
Compable with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): Air 15kV, Contact 8kV
Compable with IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A, 5/50ns
Compable with IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge): 24A, 8/20µs - Level 2(Line-
Ground) & Level 3(Line-Line)
ESD Protecon > 25 kilovolts

Circuit board layout is crical for electromagnec compability protecon. The following guidelines are recommended:
The protecon device should be placed near the input terminals or connectors, the device will divert the transient current
immediately before it can be coupled into the nearby traces.
The path length between the TVS device and the protected line should be minimized.
All conducve loops including power and ground loops should be minimized.
The transient current return path to ground should be kept as short as possible to reduce parasic inductance.
Ground planes should be used whenever possible. For mullayer PCBs, use ground vias.
