together a daisy-chained system in no time at
all. Your peripherals can be spaced as far as
15 ft. (4.5 m) apart – giving you the flexibility
to place up to 62 peripherals where it makes
the most sense to you. The FireWire-enabled
devices are hot-pluggable – so you don't have
to turn off your computer to connect or
disconnect devices. For plug-and-play
convenience, devices are recognized instantly
when they are added to the configuration –
and they can be used immediately.
Create your own movies*
Get in on the fun of digital video (DV) movie
making. Attach a FireWire-compatible DV
camcorder to your FireConnect 4300 card.
Then use the video editing software to capture
footage from the camcorder, assemble a movie
from your favorite scenes; and add titles,
graphics, music, and special effects. Finally,
burn movies on your CD-R or CD-RW.

Incredibly fast data transfer rates
The Adaptec FireConnect 4300 card is
OHCI-compliant and can transmit FireWire
data at rates up to 400 Mbits per second –
equivalent to 50 MBytes per second. These
speeds make short work of transferring your
large, media-rich files – saving you time and
increasing your productivity. Moreover, the
FireConnect 4300 card provides isochronous
data transmission that guarantees bandwidth
for your multimedia data streams – ensuring
uninterrupted full-frame, full-motion video
