Communications can be monitored from the computer to the modem, or from the modem to the computer. The amount of time the monitored line must be idle before DTR is dropped can be jumper set to 4 sec, 2 min 8 sec, 4 min 16 sec, or 34 min 8 sec. Pads have been left on the additional lines of the 4060 chip to allow the user to select other available times should it be necessary. DTR is held high on the modem side until the monitored line has been idle for the selected amount of time. Then DTR is held low for 11 seconds and is then raised again. An LED turns on when DTR is held low. Connection to the computer side is made through a DB25 female connector with female connective hardware.
