6.3Explanation of input /output signal
(1) /CLD(CARD LOAD) The /CLD line will be Low when a Magnet ic Card exists in the Magnetic
Card Reader.
The /CLD line will be High at all ot her times.
(2) /RCL(READ CLOCK) This is used to sample the dat a line by it' s falling edges. T he t im e
relationship of the clock with respect t o the order sig nals is shown in
Figure 6. 4. 1.
(3) /RDT(READ DATA) The moment /RCL change from High to Low ; /RDT is “1” when the
/RDT line is Low , and /RDT is “0” when the / RDT line is High.

8. UNIT LIFE
Life Magnetic head 300,000 operation
(conditions)I n a clean office room.
In damp or dirty atmosphere, the life may be 1/3 to 1/5 of the above figure.
9. LIMITED GUARANTEE OF ONE YEAR
If defects should occur within one year af ter the delivery of the card reader due to
improper m at erial or bad workmanship, the defect ive part s shall be replaced or
repaired, free of charg e.
10.MAINTENANCE
Because of difficult y in chang ing components on t he P. C Board, replacem ent of
whole unit is recommended for service and maintenance.
11.CAUTIONS ON THE USE
Please be not ed t hat we do not guarantee pr oper per form ance of the car d reader
if it is used ot her than the indicated specification r ange.
11.1 At the installation
( 1) Be sur e t o install on a flat sur face so as to pr event any force to be applied t o
the card reader at the installation.
(2) Do not touth the P.C.B. with bear hands.
(3)Do not drop or bump anything ag ainst a car d r eader. Ot her wise, failure may
be the result.
( 4) The card reader should avoid installat ion of the following environment.
Watery, humid or dust y place.
Near machines which generate m agnetic field or inducted noise.
(Printer ,LED display, CRT etc.)
Place which gets direct sunlight.

11.2 At the use
(1) Be sure to use a card which conforms I SO st andar d.
Anti-mag net ic of the applied card should be 2.4×102.4×10A/m of ISO
standard.
(2) Card oper at ion speed should be within the specification r ange.
For c ed st op or change of speed dur ing the card oper at ion m ay cause a read
error.
Appr opriate speed to m aint ain stable operation is 30 cm/s60 cm/s.
(3) Stor e t he car d with caution t o pr event dir t , scratch and distor tion.
Especially, no foreign matt er shall be stuck on t he m agnetic str ipe sur face.
Use of such card m ay result in a r ead er ror.
(4) Inser t a cleaning card and clean t he head periodically to prevent wearing of the
magnet ic head.
Head cleaning using t he cleaning card should be perform ed about once a week
if t he r oom is not dusty.
(5) Depends on installat ion environment (incorporat ion condition) or operat ion
condition, external noise or elect r ost atics and so on may affect the m achine,
and which may cause an error or a wrong operation.
Check the level of noise r esist ance and electrostatic r esist ance of your factory
befor e using the card read.
