JST SH Vertical 6-Pin Connector - SMD
GPS-00579 ROHS
DESCRIPTION DOCUMENTS
Here is a six pin vertical 1.0mm pitch connector. It is useful if you need
something very tiny as a connection. These are not the standard JST type
connectors we use on most of our boards, but are actually the much smaller
JST-SH type.

Do you have any breakout board for this connector, or would you simply solder cables to it? Those pins look
pretty small…
Toni_K / about 7 years ago / 1
The breakout board is now linked below

I would like to know what are the 2 extra pads use for?
Are they connected to ground or they are just there to add solidity to the connector when on the PCB?
I haven’t received it yet and I wanna send my gerbers before the Thursday.

Can someone tell me if they are connected to something or if they are supposed to be grounding (or
something else)?
Thanks

Please, clarify me if you provide the male and female connector or just one of both?
RobertC. / about 4 years ago / 1
It is just the female version, as shown. If you search our site for JST SH you can find the mating cables and
connectors.

I agree with Egon, a simple pin header breakout would be appreciated

While it’s not a break out board per se, there is an Arduino GPS shield that features this connector:

That may not be quite what you’re looking for but I thought I’d at least suggest it. :)
