I used the Crucial scanner and it told me I had
two spare slots and I could used another 4GB.
What it didn't tell me, as a Windows 7 user, is
that the W7 OS can only use 4GB, so buying
another 4GB was akin to throwing my money
down the drain. As a causal user I didn't know
this until I had bought and installed them and
used Google when I noticed no difference in
performance.
