The use of these input stages allows one to comply with PFC requirements without having to replace the existing system. Since the PFC modules are also available in plug-in versions, and can be connected in parallel via built-in redundancy diodes, larger PFC systems can be put together by inserting the required amount of modules into a card shelf. Within the shelf the PFC modules can be combined with DC/DC converters resulting in complex n+1 redundant power systems. All PFC modules feature low component count and high efficiency. The use of professional quality components and rigorous quality control results in an MTBF exceeding 100,000 hours at 45oC.
