The GS1662 is an SDI transmitter, ge nerating a SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 259M-C or DVB-ASI compliant se rial
digital output signal.
The integra ted ClockCleaner™ allow s the device to accept parallel clocks w ith high input jitter, and still
provide a SMPTE compliant serial digital output.
The de vice can opera te in four basic use r se lectable modes: SMP TE mode, DVB-ASI mode, Data-Through
mode, or Standby mode.
In SMPTE mode , the GS1662 performs all SMPTE processing features.
In DVB-ASI mode, the device w ill perform 8b/10b encoding prior to transmission.
In Data -Through mode , all SMPTE a nd DVB-ASI processing is disabled. The device can be used as a simple
para llel to serial converter.
The de vice can also ope rate in a low e r pow er Standby mode. In this mode , no signa l is gene rate d at the
output.
The GS1662 includes a fully SMPTE-compliant cable driver for SMPTE 292M a nd SMPTE 259M-C interfaces. It
features automatic dual slew -rate selection, depending on HD- or SD-SDI operational requirements.
