They are ideal for use in broad- band high speed multi-throw switches as well as phase shifters, modulators, and attenuators. Metelics has a unique capability to nondestruc- tively measure beam lead PIN diodes from O.1 to 18 GHz for series 50 Ohm line insertion loss and isolation. Thus wafers can be more accurately selected for specific applications. From measurement resulis we have determined some devices have Rp effects which affect isola- tion more at 18 GHz than 10 GHz Also, the junc- tion capacitance feeds through more energy at higher frequencies than at low frequencies in the insertion loss tests. Thus, Rp is better measured at low frequencies. The diodes are oxide and polyimide protected for high reliability and scratch protection. Rug- ged beam construction provides high beam pull strength.
