The resistive element compri
ses a thin film o
f carbon, depo
sited onto a high
thermal
conductivity ceramic core. M
etal end ca
ps are force fitted t
o the
element prior to
spiralling to value. Tinned co
pper lead wir
es are welded to t
he end caps and t
he
components are then coated.
One coat of p
henolic resin is followed by
three coats of
epoxy resin. All resistors ar
e tested for value and toleran
ce.
