Dieses Dokum ent beschrei bt, wie Sie die SIM ATIC NET PC-Software-Produkte auf
Ihrem PG/PC installieren können.

Voraussetzungen/Hinweise
Betriebssysteme
Die Install ation der SIMATIC NET PC-S oft ware-Pr oduk te wird mit f olgenden B e-
triebssyst emen der Firma Microsoft unterstützt:

– Windows 2000 Server
• Windows NT
– Windows NT Wor k station, Ver si on 4.0
– Windows NT S erver, Versi on 4.0

unterstützt en B etriebssysteme entnehm en Si e bitt e der Liesmich-Datei auf der CD.
Vorkenntnisse
Für die Install ation der SIMATI C NET PC-Soft ware-Pr oduk te benötigen Sie Wissen
über di e Install ation von Softwar e unter Wi ndows 2000 bzw. Windows NT .
Für die nac hfol gende K onfigurierung der K ommunikati onsbaugrupp en benöti gen
Sie fo lgende Kenntnisse:
• Kenntnisse über den Aufbau der betr eff enden A nlage.
• Grundwis sen über die Konf igurati on der Anl age.

Bildschirmschoner
Bei Ei nsatz eines Bildschirmschoners ist zu beachten, dass die Bear beitung
CPU-Z eit kostet und dami t zu Überl ast des Systems führ en k ann.
Außer dem si nd Bil dschirmschoner bek annt, bei denen Hauptspei c her anteile nic ht
m ehr f r eigegeben werden. Dadurch r eduz iert si c h kontinuierlic h der nutzbare
Hauptspeicher.
Virenscanner
Der Einsatz eines Vi r enscanners i m laufenden B etrieb kann zur Störung von
Hardware-Erweiterungen führen. Beim Betrieb von SOFTNET kann es deshalb zu
einer Bl oc k ade der P r oz esskopplung k om men.
Wir empfehlen, Virent ests ni c ht während des Bet r iebs eines SIM ATIC NET
PC-Software-Pr oduk ts auszuführ en. Nach dem Vir entest sollt e der Rec hner r üc k -
gesetzt werde n, bevor Sie eine Prozesskopplung aktiv ieren.

Vorgehensweise
Gehen Sie wi e fol gt beschrieben Schritt für Schritt v or, um di e SIMATIC NET
PC-Software-Pr oduk te zu instal lieren.
Während der Installation wird der Rec hner abhängig vom Ausbauzustand und von
der i nstallierten Software m ehrmals neu gest ar tet.
Diese Neu st art s des Rechners sind Bestandteil des Inst all at io nsvorgangs!
Nach ei nem Neustar t des Rechners wird der Installationsvor gang automati sch an
der vorgesehenen Stelle weiter ausgeführt. Si e br auc hen si c h lediglich an die In-
stallati onsschri tte in dieser Beschreibung z u halten. Weitere Eingriffe sind nicht
notwendig.

Schritt 1 – Kommunikationsbaugruppe j etzt einbauen?
Die für SOFTNET Industrial Ethernet verwendeten Kommunikationsbaugruppen in-
stallieren Sie bitte jetzt mit allen dort mitgelieferten Treibern.
Die Kommunikationsbaugruppen für alle anderen SIMATIC NET PC-Produkte wer-
den nach Abschluss der Software-Installation eingebaut.
Bereits gesteckte Kommunikationsbaugruppen k önnen im PC belassen werden.
Schritt 2 – Administratorrechte
Eine Installation der SIMATIC NET P C-Software-Produkte ist nur mit Administrator-
rechten möglich.
Melden Sie sich deshalb am Betriebssystem m it einem Login an, das zur Gruppe
der Administrator en gehör t.
Schritt 3 – Laufende Programme schließen
Schließen Sie alle laufenden Pr ogr amme, insbesondere darf auch die Sys-
temsteuerung nicht geöffnet sein.

Schritt 5 – Liesmich-Datei lesen
Die Liesmich- Datei enthält neueste Informationen über die SIM ATIC NET
PC-Produkte.
Kli c k en Si e auf die Schaltfl äc he „ Liesmich anzeigen“ und lesen Sie die aufgeblen-
deten I nformationen.
Schritt 6 – Internet Explorer 5.5 installieren
Der Internet Explorer wird für folgende Funkti onen benötigt:
• Installation und Betrieb der SIMAT IC NET PC-Sof tware-Produkt e
• Anzeigen der HTML-Dok um ente und der Online- Hilfen

Wenn Si e den Mi c r osoft Internet Explor er 5.0 oder höher ber eits installi er t haben,
können Sie diesen Schritt überspri ngen.
Vorgehensweise
Gehen Sie wi e fol gt beschrieben vor, um den Internet E x plor er 5.5 der Firm a
Microso ft zu installieren.

1 Kli c k en Si e auf die Schaltfl äc he „Internet Explorer 5.5 installier en“ .
2 Wählen Sie gegebenenfalls die Opti on „ Typische Komponent en“ aus.
3Nach der I nstallati on des Internet Explorer starten Sie bitte das Pro-
gramm „ setup.exe“ im Hauptver z eic hnis der CD.
Schritt 7 – Acrobat Read er 5.0 in s t all ieren
Zahlreiche Dok um ente der SIMATIC NET Software-Pr oduk te und der Pr ojek tie-
rungs-Soft ware SI M ATIC NCM P C sind im PDF-Format beigefügt (Format des
Acrobat Reader). Um diese Dokument e lesen zu können benötigen S ie den
Acrobat Reader ab Ver si on 4.0.
Wenn Si e den Acrobat Reader, Version 4.0 oder höher bereits installiert haben,
können Sie diesen Schritt überspri ngen.
Vorgehensweise
Klicken Si e zum Installieren auf die Schaltf läche „Acrobat Reader 5.0 install ieren“.

Festplatte.

Version 5.1 Serv ic e- P ac k 2 verwenden.

Wenn STEP 7 bereits instal liert ist, darf

Vorgehensweise
Wählen Sie die gewünschten Produk tbestandteile aus und lesen Si e die angebo-
tenen I nformationen unter „Beschreibung“.
Achtung
SIM ATIC NET PC-Software-Produk te einer früheren SIMATIC NET-CD werden
v or der Installation von Soft ware-Pr oduk ten der vorl iegenden CD deinstalliert.
Auf diese Situation wer den S ie noch einmal dur c h eine Warnmeldung auf dem
Bil dschirm unmi tt elbar vor der Deinstallati on der „ alten“ Software-Pr oduk te hinge-
wiesen.

Es beginnt die Software- Instal lation; dieser Vorgang kann eine längere Z eit bean-
spruchen.

Schritt 13 – Lizenzen installieren
Wenn Si e in S c hri tt 11 das Kont r ollkästc hen „ A utorisierung automatisch durc hfüh-
ren“ aktiviert haben, erscheint dieses Dialogfeld.
Si e k önnen die Liz enz en auc h nac hträglich mit dem Programm „AuthorsW“ instal-
lieren (siehe hierzu die Hinweise in S c hri tt 11) .
Vorgehensweise
Aktivi er en Si e alle Kontr ollkästchen der jenigen Produk te, von denen Sie Lizenzen
haben.
Kli c k en Si e auf die Schaltfl äc he „Installi er en“ und folgen Sie den Anweisungen.

Schritt 14 – Installation abschließen und Konfiguration starten
Nachdem Sie die Lizenz en installi er t haben schl ießt der Rechner die Gesamti n-
stallati on ab. Es erschei nt eine Aufforderung zum Neustart des Computer s.
Vorgehensw eise b ei Produkt en für SOFTNET Indu st rial Ethernet
Wenn Sie ein SIMATIC NET SOF TNET -Industrial-Ethernet -Produkt verwenden,
wurden di e K ommunikati onsbaugrupp en ber eit s i n S c hr itt 1 eingebaut und die zu-
gehöri gen Treiber installi er t.
Stufe Beschreibung
1 Wählen Sie die Option „ J a, Computer jetzt neu star ten“ und verl assen
Si e das Di alogfel d mit „Beenden“ .
Nach dem Neustart und Einloggen erschei nt der Inbetriebnahmeas-
sistent.
2 Legen Sie im Inbetriebnahmeassistenten für jede Baugruppe fest, ob
sie ausschl ießli c h ohne pr ojekti erte K ommunikati on (PG - B etrieb) oder
für projektier te Kommunik ation eingesetzt werden soll.
Fal l 1: Ohne pro jektierte Ko mmun ikation
Für die Inbetri ebnahme einer Baugruppe ohn e pro jektiert e Kommu -
nika tion (PG-Bet rieb) folgen Si e bitt e den S c hritten im
Inbet r iebnahmeassistent en. Die Handhabung des Inbetr iebnahmeas-
sistenten für den PG-Betri eb ist in der Produkti nformati on beschrieben.
Fal l 2: Mi t projekt ierter Kommunikation
Für die Inbetri ebnahme einer Baugruppe mit projektierter Kommuni-
kation folgen Si e bitte den Schrit ten im Inbetri ebnahm eassistent en.

Reaktion:
• Die SIM ATIC NET Soft ware-Pr oduk te werden von der Festplatt e
gelöscht.
• Die Liz enz en k önnen wahlweise deinstalliert werden oder si e blei -
ben auf der Festpl att e er halten.
Hinweis:
Si e k önnen diese aber auch nac hträglic h m it dem Pr ogr amm
„Aut hor sW“ deinstallieren.
Voraussetz ung ist, dass „Author sW“ auf Ihrem Rec hner installiert ist

m üssen Sie die Lizenz en wieder auf Ihre Schlüsseldiskette/-disketten zurück über -

Install ation of the SIMATIC NET PC software products is supported for the

Previous Experience
To install SIMATI C NET PC software products, you should have experience of
installing software under W indows 2000 or Windows NT.
To configure the communication modules following ins tallation of the softw are, you
should have exper ience and knowledge of the following:
• You should be famili ar with the struct ur e of the system /plant inv olv ed.
• You should be famili ar with the configur ation of the system/ plant.
You should only undertake the installation and c onfigurati on when you have this
knowledge.

If y ou use a scr een s aver, remember t hat proc essing t he saver costs CPU time and
this can lead to the system being overloaded.
Some screen savers are known not to release memory resources again. This
m eans that usable main m em ory is continually reduc ed.
Virus Scanner
Using a virus scanner duri ng oper ation c an cause problems with hardware
ex pansi ons. When working with SOFTNET, this can t her efore lead to the interfac e
to t he pr oc ess being blocked.
We recommend that you do not r un vi r us tests whil e oper ati ng a SIMATIC NET PC
software product. After a virus test, you should reset y our c om puter before y ou
activate an int erface to the process.

Procedure
Follow the instr uc tions on the next pages st ep by step to i nstall the SIMATIC NET
PC sof tware products.
Duri ng the install ation, you will hav e to restar t your comput er several times
depending on it s confi gur ation and the soft ware i nstall ed on it.
Th ese rest art s are un avoidable parts of the install at ion pro cess!
Following a restart on your comput er , t he installation will continue automatically
with t he nex t step. Y ou only need to follow the installation instructi ons i n this

Step 1 – Installing a Communication Module Now or Later
You should now install the c ommunication m odules used for SOFTNET Industri al
Ether net with the drivers supplied with them.
The communicati on m odules for all other SIM ATIC NET PC products are instal led
only aft er c om pletion of the software installation.
Any communicati on m odules already i nsert ed in y our P C can be left as they ar e.
Step 2 – A dmi nis trato r Privileges
It is onl y possible to instal l the S IMATIC NET PC soft ware products if you have
admi nistrator privil eges.
You should t her efore log on wi th the operating system using a login belongi ng to
the group of administrator s.
Step 3 – Closing Open Application s
Close any open progr ams. Make sure above all that th e Contro l Panel is not
open.

The I nternet Explor er is required for the following func tions:

If y ou hav e alr eady installed t he Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher , you c an

Follow the steps below to install the Int er net Explorer 5. 5 from Mi c r osoft.

1 Clic k the " Install Int er net Ex plor er 5.5" button.
2 You can selec t the option " Typical com ponents".

Step 7 – Installing Acrobat Reader 5.0

box with "Exi t".
Following the r estar t and after y ou have logged on, the Commi ssioning
W izard st arts.
2 In t he Commissioni ng Wizard, you specif y for each module whether i t
will be used exclusively without configur ed c ommunicat ion (PG
operation) or whether it will be used f or confi gur ed c om m unic ation.

To commission a module without configured communication (PG
operation), wor k through the steps i n the Commi ssioning Wiz ar d. How

To commission a module with configured communication, work
through the steps in t he Commissioning Wizard. For new and modifi ed
