Introduction
The Fluke 700 Series Pressure M odul es allow you to measure
pressure with the Fluke 700 S eri es Process Calibrators. Read this
sheet before you use the pres sure module. This sheet contai ns
specifications and informat i on about how to avoid damaging the
pressure modul e. See the Calibrator Users Manual for operating
instructions.
The pressure modul e m easures press ure using an internal
microproc essor. It receives operating power from and sends digit al
informat i on to the 700 Series calibrator.
Gage pressure modul es have one press ure fitting and m easure
pressure with respect t o atmospheric pressure. Differential pressure
modules hav e two pressure fi ttings and measure the diff erence
between the applied pressure on the high fitting versus the l o w f i tting.
Figure 1 shows the two types . A differential press ure m odul e f unctions
like a gage modul e when the low fitting is open.
Compatibility of Pressure Modules with Fluke
Process Calibrators
Fluke-701, 702, 741, 743, and 744 Documenting Process
Calibrators: The Fluk e-700P00 and P27 Press ure M odul es are
completely compatible with these calibrators.
Fluke-716, 717, and 718 P ressure Cal ibrators: The Fluke-700P00
and P27 Press ure Modules will display pressure readings correctly on
716 Press ure Cal i brators with f i rm ware V1.2 or higher, or 717 and 718
Press ure Cal i brators with f i rm ware V1.3 or higher. To view the sof tware
revisi on, power-on the cali brat or while holding down the MAX key.
Read the REV num ber i n the display. Contact your Fluke Serv i ce
Center for a free update of cali brat o rs with lower revision numbers .

Fluke-725 Multifuncti on P r ocess Cal ibrators: The Fluke-700P00 and
P27 Press ure Modules will display correc t pressure readings when
used with Fl uke-725 Multif unction Proc ess Calibrators at internal
software revision 1. 9 and l at er. To view the s oftware revis i on, power-on
the cali brator while holding down the 0% key. Read t he REV number in
the displ ay. Contact your Fluke Service Center f or a f ree update of
calibrat ors with lower rev i sion numbers. Reference PCN 4578.

Protecting Yourself from Pressure Releases
To avoid a violent release of pressure in a pressurized system, shut off
the isol at i on valve and sl owl y bleed off t he pressure before y ou at tach
or remove the pressure module f rom the pressure line.
Avoiding Overpressure Damage
Applyi ng pressure in exc ess of t he B URST PRESSURE specifi ed on
the press ure m odul e can destroy the pressure modul e. Burst pressure
is 3X f ul l scale (2X for 700P09, 30X f or 700P 00).

1. Use of pressure zero function is required to achieve these specifications. Contact your Fluke Service Center for upgrade of your Fluke 701 or Fluke 702 V1.0, V1.1, or
V1.2 calibrator.
2. Available pressure units (psi, kPa, bar, inHg, mmHg, inH20, ftH20., kg/cm2, mmH20, cmH20) are determined by the calibrator being used.
3. Accuracy specifications apply for 0 to 100% of full scale, 0 to 50°C. 1% FS typical, -10 to 0°C. On 700P00 only, specification applies from 15 to 35°C.
4. Maximum Non-Destructive Pressure: 3X maximum rated pressure, including common mode pressure. (700P09: 2X, 700P00: 30X)
5. Maximum Common Mode Pressure: 3X maximum rated pressure. (700P09: 2X, 700P00: 30X)
6. Specifications reflect a confidence interval of 95%.
Avoiding Mechanical Damage
To avoid mec hani cally damagi ng the pressure module, never apply
more than 10 ft.-lbs. of torque between the pressure module fittings or
between the fi ttings and t he body of the module. Always appl y
appropriate torque bet ween the pressure modul e f itting and c onnecting
fitt i ngs or adapters. Fi gure 2 shows the correct way and incorrect
ways t o use a wrench when applyi ng t orque to the press ure m odul e
fitting.

Avoiding Corrosion Da mage
To avoid damaging the pressure modul e f rom corrosion, use it only
with specified medi a as shown below:
Isolat ed modules: any m edi um that is compatible with type 316
stainl ess steel .
Nonisolat ed m odul es: dry, noncorrosive gasses only.
Recommended Measurement Technique
For best res ul t s, it is recommended t hat the module be pressurized to
full s cale and then vent ed to zero press ure (at mosphere) prior to
zeroing and mak i ng measurements wi th the cali brat or.
Note
Low range pressure modules may be sensitive to
gravity. For best results, pressure modules 30 psi and
below should be held at the same physical orientation
from the time they are zeroed until the measurement is
complete.
Performance Test
If you need to check that the pressure module meets i ts acc uracy
specification, use a dead weight t ester or suit able pressure cal ibrator.
The accurac y of the dead weight tester or pressure calibrato r should
be at least 4X better than t he 700 Series pressure specif i cation.
Proceed as f ol l o ws to verif y that a pressure module is operating within
specification:
1. Read the press ure value with no externally appli ed pressure to
make sure the 0% of scale is c orrect. When reading t he pressure
with a 700 Series, press t he ZERO key to rem ove any zero
offset.
2. Connect the pressure module t o a dead wei ght tester.
3. Set the dead wei ght tester t o 20% of the pressure modules full
scale value.
4. Make sure the reading agrees wit h t he dead wei ght tester value
within the Total Uncertainty speci fication i n Tabl e 1.
5. Set the dead wei ght tester t o 40, 60, 80, and 100% of full scale
and compare the respectiv e readi ngs.
6. If tem perature sensit i vity i s of concern, repeat steps 1 through 5
at various controlled temperatures.
Pressure Calibration Kit
The Fluke-700PCK P ressure Calibrati on Kit makes it poss i bl e to
calibrat e pressure modules at ambient tem perature with a preci sion
pressure c al i brator or dead weight tes ter at least 4x better than the
module spec i fication. A 386 or better P C and Wi ndows® 3.1 or better
are required. The ki t i s an optional ac cessory available from your
distributor or Fluke.
