2.2 Orde r of precedence . In the event of a confli ct between the text of this drawing and the references cited herein,
the text of this drawing shall take precedence.
3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Ite m re quireme nts. The indi vidua l i te m requireme nts shall be in accordance with 1.2. 1 of MIL-STD-883,
"Provisions for the use of MIL-STD-883 in conjunction with compliant non-JAN devices" and as spe cified here in.
3.2 Des ign, cons truction, and physical dimens ions. The des ign, constr uction, and phy sica l dimensions s hall be a s
specified in MIL-M -38510 and herein.
3.2.1 Terminal conne ctions . The te rminal conne ctions shall be as specified on figure 1.
3.2.2 Case outlines. The case outlines sha ll be in accordance with 1.2.2 herein.
3.3 Elect rica l per form ance chara cteristics. Unless otherwise specified, the electrical performance characteristics are
as specified in table I and apply over the full case operating temperature ra nge.
3.4 Marking. Marking shall be in accor dance with MIL-STD- 883 (see 3.1 herein). The part shall be marked with t he
part num ber listed in 1.2 herein. In addition, the ma nufa cturer's part numbe r may also be mar ked a s list ed in 6.4 herein.
3.5 Certificat e of compliance . A certificate of complia nce s hall be r equired from a manufacturer in order to be lis ted
as an a pproved source of supply in 6.4. The certificate of compliance submitted to DESC-ECS prior t o li sting as an
approved s ource of supply shall st ate that the manufacturer' s product mee ts the re quire m ents of MIL-STD-883 (see 3.1
here in) and the requirements herein.
3.6 Certificat e of conforma nce. A certifica te of conformance as required in MIL-STD-883 (see 3.1 herein) shall be
provided with each lot of m icrocircuits delivered to this dr awing.
3.7 Notificat ion of change. Notification of change to DESC-ECS shall be required i n accordance with MIL-STD-883
(se e 3.1 herein).

3.8 Verification and revie w . DESC, DESC's agent, and the acquiring activ ity retain the option to rev iew the
manufacturer's facility and applicable required documentation. Offshore documentation shall be made available
onshore at the option of the reviewer.
4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1 Sampling and inspection. Sampling and inspection procedure s shall be in accordance with section 4 of
MIL-M-38510 to the e xtent specified in MI L-STD-883 (s ee 3.1 here in).
4.2 Screening. Scree ning shall be in accordance with method 5004 of M IL-STD- 883, a nd sha ll be conducted on all
device s prior t o quality conform ance inspection. The foll owing additional crite ria shall apply :
a. Burn-in test, method 1015 of MIL-STD-883.
(1) Test condi tion A, B, C, or D using the circuit submitted with the certificate of compliance
(se e 3.5 herein).
(2) T = +125

b. Interim and final electrical te s t parameters s hal l be as specifie d i n table II herein, except interi m electrical
para m eter tests prior to burn-in are optiona l at the discre tion of the m anufacturer.
4.3 Quality conform ance inspection. Quality conformance inspe ction shall be in accor dance with method 5005 of
MIL-STD-883 including groups A, B, C, and D inspections. The foll owing additional criteria shall apply.
4.3.1 Group A inspection.
a. Tests shall be as specified in table II herein.
b. Subgroups 5, 6, 7, and 8 in table I, m ethod 5005 of MIL-STD- 883 shall be om itted.
4.3.2 Groups C and D inspections.
a. End-point e lectrical parameters sha ll be as spe cified in table II herein.
b. Stea dy state li fe test conditions, m ethod 1005 of MIL-STD-883.
(1) Te st condition A, B, C, or D using the circui t s ubm itt ed with the certificate of com pli ance (see 3.5
herein).

5. PACKAGING
5.1 Packa ging requireme nts . The requireme nts for packa ging shall be in accordance with MIL-M -38510.
6. NOTES
6.1 Inte nded use . Microcircuits conforming to this drawing are intended for use when military specifications do not
exist and qualified military devices that will perform the required function are not available for OEM application. When a
military specification exists and the product cover ed by this dra wing has be en qua lified f or lis ting on QPL- 38510, the
device specified herein will be inactivated and will not be used for new design. The QPL-38510 product shall be the
preferred item for all applications.
6.2 Replaceability. Microcircuits covered by this drawing will replace the same generic device covered by a
contractor-prepa re d spe cification or dr awing.
