The ACWA 1xN Series of integrated optical
splitter/combiner components extends modern
fiberoptic capabilities into the realm of passive
optical networks and cable TV (CATV)
applications. The devices are compact and
reliable. Their use of planar waveguide
technology offers low insertion loss, high output
uniformity, and ultra-low backreflection. These
properties, together with wide spectral band-
widths and polarization independence, enable the
devices to fulfill all the requirements of optical
communication technology for passive splitter
components in both analog and digital networks.
Compact and robust, the components are easy to
handle and provide accurate and reliable
transmission, even under extreme environmental
and mechanical conditions (environmental
testing based on Telcordia standard GR-1221).
They fit easily into conventional cassettes and are
supplied with standard buffer tubes, cables, and
connectors.
