One Type ESRD chip can replace several aluminum or tantalum capacitors connected in parallel and are packaged in a low profile case (7.3 4.3 1.8 mm) with the same footprint as the industry standard tantalum ODO case size. Polymer aluminum capacitors have stable impedance and equivalent series resistance over the operating temperature range (55 to +105 C) and more than twice the ripple current handling capability of tantalum capacitors.
