RIGOL User's Guide RIGOL OCXO-C08 Highly Stable Clock Product Overview The highly stable clock (i.g. OCXO module; with the order No. OCXO-C08) is an option for RSA5000/RSA3000 series real-time spectrum analyzer and consists of the following parts. connecting finger: makes electrical connection between the OCXO module and the real-time spectrum analyzer. gilded rails: ensures good electrical connection between the OCXO module and the OCXO rail grooves of the real-time spectrum analyzer. OCXO: indicates the oven controlled crystal oscillator. Gilded Rails Connecting Finger OCXO Disassembly&Assembly Instructions The connecting method of the OCXO module and the real-time spectrum analyzer is as shown in the figure below. Real-time Spectrum Analyzer OCXO Module OCXO Plate OCXO Slot 1. 2. Assembly Procedures: (1) Remove the OCXO plate on the rear panel of the spectrum analyzer by using the T10 screwdriver. (2) Insert the OCXO module into the OCXO slot, as shown in the above figure. Ensure that the OCXO module is firmly connected. (3) Fasten the OCXO plate with 3 screws. Disassembly Procedures: (1) Remove the OCXO plate on the rear panel of the spectrum analyzer by using the T10 screwdriver. Notices to Usage After the OCXO module is installed, power it on and start up the spectrum analyzer. During the start-up process, the spectrum analyzer recognizes the OCXO module automatically and synchronizes with the OCXO module. Note that at this point, no external sync signal is allowed to be connected to the spectrum analyzer. Press System About System Option Info. If the instrument interface shows that the OCXO-C08 option is activated, the OCXO module and the spectrum analyzer are successfully synchronized. If it is failed to be activated, the synchronization fails. CAUTION After the OCXO module is installed on the spectrum analyzer, the OCXO module will still be working if you only turn off the Power key on the front panel without cutting off the AC power supply on the rear panel. Therefore, please cut off the AC power if you do not use the spectrum analyzer for a long period of time. Jan. 2018
