Create a fun and functional display while exploring the Adafruit LED
Matrix and the Raspberry Pi Matrix Hat. This product bundle comes
with everything you need to get started. Just follow Adafruit’s online
learning tutorial for the RGB Matrix Hat.
While this isn’t likely to replace the screen on your laptop or your TV anytime
soon, it’s a great learning exercise to make your own simple display to keep
data up on the wall or loop your favorite GIF in the background. The code
used in the project has a lot of functionality from static to animated images
or you can even turn it into a smart display to show what time the next bus
will arrive. If you want to get really ambitious the LED Matrix panels can be
linked together to form large displays or take over the entire wall. Because

the code is open source it serves as an excellent learning tool and is as
customizable as your imagination.
