Super Contact Cement 8336 Technical Data Sheet 8336-Liquid Description The 8336 Super Contact Cement is a high-strength, solvent-based adhesive that is resistant to heat, water, and oil. Clamping is not required because the adhesive is quick drying and adheres fast upon contact. Applications & Usages The 8336 adheres to laminates plastics, veneers, plywood, particle boards, metals (ferrous and nonferrous), cork, fabric, and rubber. It is ideal for applications where clamping is not possible, such as, bonding laminates or wood veneer to cabinets, countertops, and large flat surfaces. Also, it can be used to repair fabric seat covers, shoes, weather stripping, and loose flooring. Benefits and Features * Fast drying and quick bonding--eliminating the need for clamping * Excellent heat and moisture resistance * Excellent finish--tough, glossy, and durable and transparent coat * Brush cap for easy application ATTENTION ! Consumer Product VOC Prohibition Prohibited for residential and institutional use in California and other states (IL, IN, MI, OH, CT, DE, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, VA, DC, UT). If contamination is present on the substrate, clean the surface first. TIP! Adhesion can be improved by slightly etching or sanding the surfaces of materials to be bonded. ATTENTION ! It is NOT recommended for use on polystyrene and polyurethane foam and bonding materials that will be exposed to continual heavy loads. May damage some hard plastics and painted surfaces. Always test small area prior use. Surface preparation Clean oil, dust, water, solvents, and other contaminants. Let dry fully. To coat by brushing 1. The temperature of the working environment and surfaces to be bonded should be between 18 to 25 C [65 to 77 F]. 2. Apply an even and generous coat to both surfaces using a brush or spatula. 3. Carefully position surfaces to be bonded as bonding occurs immediately and will be permanent. 4. Apply pressure from the center to the edges using a J-roller or rubber hand roller. A pinch roller or rotary press may also be used. 5. Rotate the board 90 and continue rolling toward the edges. 6. Wait at least 10 to 15 minutes before applying another coat. 7. A full bond strength is reached in 72 hours. Page 3 of 4 Date: 26 April 2017 / Ver. 1.00 Super Contact Cement 8336 Technical Data Sheet 8336-Liquid TIP! Dull spots indicate a second coat is required. Porous surfaces such as particle board or plywood requires two coats. ATTENTION ! Unwanted adhesive residues should be cleaned immediately with acetone or d-limonene.
