About Power Rating . . .
Power Rating is the maximum power which can be
applied to an antenna without degrading its
performance so that stated specifications are not met.
a.) Intermittent - the antenna is subjected to 1 minute
transmit at the specified rated power then 4 minutes off
for 4 hours. After completion of the four hour period,
there are 3 cycles of 5 minutes of transmit at the rated
power followed by 15 minutes off.
b.) Continuous - the antenna is subjected to 4 hours
continuous power at the specified rated power.
