Windows XP was dog slow on this machine , and the hard drive would thrash with every operation . The upgrade to 2 GB works great , but I'm a little disappointed in the speed improvement. It doesn 't thrash any more, but only a few things are significantly faster. The rest is about the same . I'm not sure it was worth the extra $ 45 to upgrade to 2GB instead of 1GB.
