They can also be used for a very small audio transducer such as a buzzer. images are CC BY 2.0 SHARE Piezo Element Product Help and Resources VIDEOS SKILLS NEEDED SparkFun Simple Sketches: Piezo Element Knock Vibration Sensor PUBLISHED ON JANUARY 21, 2015 COMMENTS 38 REVIEWS 2 Customer Reviews 5 out of 5 Based on 2 ratings: 5 star 2 4 star 0 3 star 0 2 star 0 1 star 0 Currently viewing all customer reviews. 4 of 4 found this helpful: Works great, need some mass about 3 years ago by caseyh verified purchaser This piezo element needs some mass to make a loud noise or detect vibrations. After I did that, it has a nice high pitched frequency range. It can also detect footsteps throughout my entire house with the standard Arduino ADC and no amplification. How awesome is that? 1 of 1 found this helpful: Very sensitive about 2 years ago by dccharacter verified purchaser Nothing to add to the previous review - put some mass on (not a lot though) and it will detect slightest vibrations. Make sure it suits your application though. START SOMETHING.
