Engineering Specification
3M Crimp-Type Connectors shall, electrically and
mechanically, connect permanently to the prestripped
ends of two or more copper wires. The connector line
shall have regulatory agency coverage (UL Listing CSA
Certification). The connectors shall be marked with the
wire range and a manufacturers symbol (
·
).
The 3M Copper Insert Closed End crimp type connector
shall be tin plated, annealed, seamless copper sleeve,
0.34" long and sized for a selection of wire combinations
within a specified (AWG) wire range (18-10). The
copper sleeve shall be covered by a molded nylon, skirted
insulator of natural color.
Insulated terminals shall be UL Listed and CSA Certified
for 600 Volts maximum, building wire: 1000-Volts
maximum, in signs fixtures and luminaires, and have a
maximum operating temperature of 221°F-(105˚C).
Installation Information
UL Listed and CSA Certified for use on solid or
stranded copper (AWG) wire only.
Instructions:
1. Strip all wires 3/8 inch.
2. Pretwist wires before crimping.
3. Insert wires into connector.
4. Insert into proper tool station and crimp.
