Connect FE using the mounting screw. Avoid damage to the electronics! An external power supply unit should never be used to supply the sensors. Avoid compensating currents! All sensors must be insulated. 4 Socket 1 provides two inputs (see Figure 5). This means that sensors with two input signals can be connected to this socket. If both inputs are used on socket 1, the input on socket 2 cannot be used, as input 2, which is dually available, will be jumpered internally (see Figure 3 on Page 2). Socket 3 provides two outputs (see Figure 5). This means that actuators with two output signals can be connected to this socket. If both outputs are used on socket 3, the output on socket 4 cannot be used, as output 2, which is dually available, will be jumpered internally (see Figure 3 on Page 2). 5990A IB L2 BOX 24 DIO 2/2/4 M12-2A-D Programming Data ID code B3hex (179dec) Length code 41hex (65dec) Input address area 4 bits Output address area 4 bits Parameter channel (PCP) 0 bytes Register length 4 bits INTERBUS Process Data Words Assignment of the Module Inputs to the INTERBUS Input Data Word INTERBUS reference Word (Byte/bit) view Byte Module Sensor Bit Bit Word 0 15 14 13 12 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 Byte 0 7 6 5 4 Not used 4 3 2 1 0 2 1 0 2 1 0 2 1 0 Byte 1 3 2 1 0 - - 2 1 7 6 5 4 3 Not used Assignment of the Module Outputs to the INTERBUS Output Data Word INTERBUS reference Word (Byte/bit) view Byte Module Actuator Bit Bit Word 0 15 14 13 12 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 Byte 0 7 6 5 4 Not used 4 3 Byte 1 3 2 1 0 - - 2 1 7 6 5 4 3 Not used This module is a nibble-oriented device (two bits are used.)
