PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Electrolube 2X range was developed as an extension of the No 2
Range with increased plastics compatibili
ty. This product development
was necessary due to the increasing use of thermoplastics in the
electronics and automotive industries. The 2X Range offers similar
properties to the 2 Range in that the use of one of these contact
lubricants will significant
ly increase contact performance and lifetime. A
separate data sheet is available on the diluted version of the 2X Oil,
called Contact Cleaner Lubricant (EML). 100% Ozone Friendly aerosol
products are available.
PRODUCT USE
For the lubrication of all ty
thermoplastics. A separate data sheet is available with a listing of
compatible plastics. If in any doubt a small area should be tested prior
to full scale production.
2X Oil should be used on contacts with
very low or high contact
pressures and in applications where it will not migrate. For example
brushes, commutators, bearings, jack plugs, push button switches,
relays etc.
2X Grease is a non-
melting product that will not migrate from vertical
surfaces and
will provide greater environmental protection than the oil.
Thus the grease is preferable in industrial applications where heavy
arcing is common. For example battery terminals, knife switches,
rheostats etc. The grease is also preferable in switches w
ith a very
long lifetime and high cycle rate, for example, the automotive switching
industry.

* Contains no silicones or hydrocarbons reducing switch
contamination
* Will loosen tarnish and corrosion and leave a protective film to
prevent further contamination
* Prevents arcing, thus reduces contact wear
* Highly stable synthetic material, fully inhibited against oxidisation
and copper corrosion
* Excellent penetration and cooling properties
* Good mechanical lubrication
* The aerosol version of 2X oil (SOB200D) is prepared using a non
flammable solvent (Methylene Chloride) and a 100% ozone
friendly propellant blend. This material should be tested when
sensitive plastics are present.
