HellermannTyton offers TagPrint for Windows (TagPrint 6.0) labeling software for efficient computer generated labeling.

With many of the same features as TagPrint Pro, TagPrint 6.0 is recommended for users with Microsoft DOS 3.3 or

higher, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or Windows 95/98, and 4 MB of RAM. TagPrint 6.0 is ideal for creating labels for wire and

cable marking, terminal block marking, communications identification, and other applications. The software is IBM

compatible, very user-friendly and can be operated with dot matrix, laser and ink jet printers, as well as HellermannTyton’s

HellermannTyton’s computer printable identification line is designed to bring label production “in-house” to help speed

production, reduce errors, and lower installation and assembly costs.

With the use of TagPrint Pro labeling software, a standard P.C., and dot matrix, laser, ink jet, or one of HellermannTyton’s

thermal transfer printers, labels can be printed on demand for J.I.T. (Just In Time) delivery for assembly and

Manufactured with a clear, flexible film which overwraps the

legend to provide permanent protection against moisture,

chemicals, and abrasion, HellermannTyton’s self-laminating

labels are most often used to identify flat ribbon and round

cable. They can be wrapped without fear of flagging or

popping off the wires. HellermannTyton offers self-

laminating labels for dot matrix, laser, and thermal transfer

printers.

Labels

Ideally suited to flag wire and cable and to identify terminal

blocks, printed circuit boards, EPROMS, and IC’s,

HellermannTyton provides a wide variety of thermal transfer

label stocks to fit most industrial applications. Materials can

be used in applications meeting high heat requirements and

long term indelible marking. A mix of sizes and types allows

for stock solutions to most labeling needs.

For instance, HellermannTyton provides thermal transfer

labels in a high performance white polyester.

HellermannTyton 822 material provides a high quality mark

when used with the TT822 ribbon and the HellermannTyton

thermal transfer printers (see page 113), or compatible. If

the 822 material is used in combination with the TT822 ribbon,

the HellermannTyton thermal transfer printers or specific

recommended printers, a UL Recognized mark can be

achieved.*

Identifying

SHRINK-TAG MARKERS

HellermannTyton’s Shrink-Tag system is a heat shrink

identification method which makes it easy to mark wire,

cable, terminals, and other components.

For efficient marking, Shrink-Tags can be printed using

HellermannTyton’s thermal transfer printers and the

TTHST ribbons. Shrink-Tags are also pin-fed for use with

selected 9 pin dot matrix printers. TagPrint software can

be used with a standard dot matrix printer to print on the

Shrink-Tag markers. Marks can also be made with a

printer, typewriter, or pen. After the Shrink-Tag is heated

and shrunk, the imprint is permatized and solvent

resistant.

Shrink-Tag is self-extinguishing and recognized to U.L.

standard 224 for print performance, heat shock and

flammability.

HellermannTyton also offers a military specified version of

the Shrink-Tags, in both yellow and white, with or without

perforations. When used with a dot matrix or

HellermannTyton thermal transfer printer, these military

specified Shrink-Tags meet Mil-I-23053/5, Class I and III,

Mil. Std. 202 Method 215 (except solvent C because it is

ozone depleting), and Mil-M-81531 for print performance.

Ribbons

HellermannTyton thermal transfer ribbons are specifically

designed for use with HellermannTyton thermal transfer

material. Due to various settings in printers, the different

label types and variations in ribbons, each material must

have its own specific ribbon. For instance, when ordering

HellermannTyton 822 material labels, you must specify

and use the ribbon that is configured for the 822 stock. In

this case, it would be the TT822 ribbon. In addition, you

must use this ribbon if you want an Underwriters

Laboratories recognized mark on the 822 material.*

HellermannTyton offers a series of colored ribbons for

adding color to thermal transfer labels. Labels can be

THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTER ACCESSORIES

Create-A-Label Tools Part No. CALT

Create-A-Label Tools is a software program which is installed

onto a standard IBM computer. The master label formats are

designed in the Create-A-Label Tools program.

Create-A-Label Tools is used with HellermannTyton’s thermal

transfer printers. The easy to use interface allows designs for

bar codes, fonts and graphics with WYSIWYG results. Once

your design is ready for production, Tools will permanently

download it to printer memory so that it can be easily recalled

by the KP100 (Keyboard Unit), or used to generate command

code for custom printing applications.

System Requirements DOS

IBM PC or compatible, DOS 3.0 or above with 540KB of RAM

CGA, MCGA, EGA or VGA.

Common Software Features

Graphics Support: PCX images.

Font Support: Five Basic (20.3 cpi, 16.9 cpi, 14.5 cpi,

12.7 cpi, 5.6 cpi).

KP-100 Keyboard Unit Part No. KP100

The Keyboard Display Unit (KDU) is a terminal unit that

interfaces with HellermannTyton’s thermal transfer printers

in a stand alone capacity. The KDU is strictly a terminal

and does not have the capability to store data or set up

label parameters. The KDU is used for the following

functions:

1. List label forms stored in the printer

2. Retrieve stored label forms

3. Input variable data to stored labels

4. Print stored labels

Description:

The KDU has sixty-two (62) keys and a two-line, 20

character LCD display. The KDU is powered by and

communicates with the printer through an RS232 port. The

KDU has an auxiliary RS232C port for input only. The KDU

provides +5 volts to the auxiliary port.

1 Create-A-Label software program

This upgrade kit for portability is best suited for:

• Applications where the format of the label stays the same,

but the information on the label changes. The text changes

can be manually entered from the keyboard as needed.

• Medium to high volume applications when printing fixed

text that does not change from label row to label row.

• Low volume applications when printing text that changes,

at minimum, from row to row vs. label to label.

• Serial number labels.

IDHD2100 HAND HELD 1D/2D

SCANNER

HellermannTyton’s IDHD2100 high density hand held

image reader is developed specifically for item marking

applications. This breakthrough in advanced automatic

identification supports DataMatrix ECC-200 and lower level

ECC symbols, as well as PDF417, SuperCode and major

1D symbologies. The IDHD2100 incorporates the latest

digital image capture and processing technology to provide

high resolution, tremendous depth-of-field and ultra-fast

decoding.

Complete with auto-discriminating decoding for all major

symbologies, the IDHD2100 provides a “plug-and-shoot”

convenience for any portable or fixed station application.

The IDHD2100 high density model supports DataMatrix

cell sizes as small as .004” (.010cm), linear bar codes,

PDF417 and SuperCode x-dimensions as small as .002”

(.005cm). Options include a variety of I/O interfaces,

transmit speeds and other soft parameters.

The 2D Advantage: More Information in Less Space

Matrix codes provide such a high information density

labeling alternative compared to bar codes, you have to

see it to fully appreciate the difference. They can be made

very small in size, yet hold over 2000% more information

with ease. TagPrint Pro labeling software features this

datamatrix 2D bar code. The two symbols shown to the

right both contain the same eight numeric characters of

information (12345678).

Software Port for Scanners

Portkey is a memory resident utility which makes your

serial bar code reader the functional equivalent of a

“Wedge” reader. It places serial port data in the

keyboard buffer just as if it has been typed at the

keyboard. Portkey is needed to interface the IDHD2100

scanner with a computer. Portkey is not needed for the

PSD scanner (See page 118).

are printable using HellermannTyton

TagPrint Pro software and a standard

INK JET LABELS

HellermannTyton offers a series of technologically

advanced labels for use on standard ink jet printers. The

labels

come on 8.5" x 11" sheets and are printable using

HellermannTyton’s TagPrint Pro software. A wide range

of materials and sizes is available for wire and component

marking. When used with pigment based inks,

HellermannTyton ink jet labels offer superior non-smear

marks that are chemical and solvent resistant. Even colors

can be printed when used on a color ink jet printer. Ink

jet labels are available in polyolefin or paper.

Using a color ink jet printer and HellermannTyton ink jet labels allows

for colors to be printed easily and quickly. Color coding has never been

FLEX-TAG MARKERS

The Flex-Tag marking system is a non-adhesive, labor

saving method for identifying wire and cable.

Used with TagPrint Pro software, the Flex-Tags work as an

efficient, computerized system. Flex-Tags can also be

marked with a typewriter or pen.

Manufactured from a 25mm thick, white polyester,

Flex-Tags provide a scratch resistant surface which resists

dirt, UV light, and a variety of solvents.

Delivered on fan-folded, pin-fed cards, Flex-Tags are

sturdy, yet thin enough to work with dot matrix printers — 9

pin printers are recommended.

Installation

Tapered slots are on the end of each marker. To install the

Flex-Tag, just bend the card, insert the wire into the

tapered slots, and pull. Easy to use, the Flex-Tag system

provides permanent identification without sorting, loose

markers, or waste.

HellermannTyton provides pre-printed cards of labels to

mark wires in alarm panels. Manufactured from

laminated polyester, HellermannTyton alarm cards

contain the most commonly used legends to mark wire

and cable in typical alarm installations. The text is

beneath 1/2 mil of mylar which is resistant to abrasion,

petroleum based solvents, alcohols, and water. The

markers are white with black text.

wire marking. HellermannTyton’s wire marker tape features sharp, crisp legends

which are coated to resist smearing and abrasion. It is provided on a carrier strip

HellermannTyton provides refill rolls of self-laminating labels for use in the Rite-On dispensers. Refill rolls reduce the cost

of using Rite-On markers, as the plastic dispenser can be reused. In addition to being cost effective, using refill rolls is an

CLIP-TAGS

Clip-Tags are snap-on markers which slip easily on wire and

cable. The markers are non-adhesive and come on a wand

for trouble free installation. Clip-Tags are applied by placing

the flared end of the wand over the wire, then pushing the

marker over the flare to the wire. The interlocking design of

these markers keep them aligned and readable.

Clip-Tags are used on pre-terminated wires, pre-installed

wires, and terminal blocks. They work well for electrical

installations and in panel and wire harness shops.

Each legend is printed black on a white marker.

OVALGRIP PERMANENT WIRE

IDENTIFICATION

Ovalgrip wire and cable markers are designed to provide a

permanent method of wire identification without the aid of

tools. Hand pressure will squeeze the oval open so it will slip

easily over the wire. The memory of the plastic returns the

marker to its original oval shape, holding it firmly in place.

Ovalgrip material is a white PVC compound with black

legends. Letters and numbers can be applied adjacent to

one another to make multiple digit legends.

Seven sizes fit wires with diameters from .015 inches

(.38 mm) to .235 inches (5.97mm). Ovalgrip markers can

also be slipped on HellermannTyton cable ties or wrapped

around cables for cable bundle identification. Legends are

permanent and easy to read.

HELAGRIP 2000 CABLE MARKERS

HellermannTyton Helagrip 2000 cable markers are designed for wire and cable marking in tough environments. Made of

PVC (Polyvinylchloride), Helagrip features include easy application, chevron shape to ensure a positive lock onto the

next marker, plastic reels color coded for size, and exceptional legibility. Helagrips also take up less space on the cable

than other markers.

SEALECT CATV DROP TAGS

Designed specifically for the cable TV market, Sealect drop tags identify

cable and are lightweight, yet strong and durable. The bent hasp fits

snugly around the cable to be identified. Excellent for outdoor

applications, the bent hasp is constructed from stainless steel preventing

rust and corrosion. The plastic body contains UV inhibitors, stopping

colors from fading and permitting drop tag identification from distances.

Sealect drop tags are offered in a variety of colors along with embossed

numbers and can include a company name. The maximum is 7 digits

and 13 letters. Standard colors include red, green, blue, yellow, black,

orange, gray, violet, and white. Another option is the addition of a white

write-on area, ideal for on-the-spot identification.

FIBER MARK CABLE MARKERS

Fiber Mark cable markers are a non-adhesive

identification system for fiber optic cable. Produced from

heavy duty, precoiled plastic, Fiber Mark cable markers

can be uncoiled, then snapped into place. No adhesive is

needed. The text is protected by a thick layer of clear

acrylic which provides UV protection and abrasion

resistance.

FIBER OPTIC CABLE TAPE

Fiber optic cable tape is used on HellermannTyton wiring

duct and the Lightguide Fiber Optic Protection System to

identify the routing of fiber optic cable. Consult

LITPDTELECOM for more information on the Lightguide

System. It is a 1" wide orange vinyl with black lettering

which states, “FIBER OPTIC CABLE.” The legend is

repeated every 6 inches.

UNDERGROUND WARNING TAPE

HellermannTyton underground warning tapes protect against

third party dig-ins of cable and pipelines. The underground

tape is buried six to ten inches below grade level electrical

and fiber optic cables, as well as above gas and water

pipelines. It provides a visual signal that continued digging

will damage the lines. HellermannTyton underground tapes

conform to APWA color codes for tape marking systems, as

well as many ASTM standards for tensile strength,

elongation, thickness, and tear.

• Caution tags feature a crystal clear self-laminating plastic flap that

Nitrile Markers

HellermannTyton offers cable markers made from a high temperature PVC

Nitrile rubber compound. Ensuring survivability in high temperature areas, these

markers are ideal for use in more aggressive environments. Due to its high

elasticity, the markers can be stretched 5 times in fitting and doubled in

continuous use. The ability to use one size for different cable sizes keeps

inventory costs down. Standard marking is according to quoted specification.

Zero Halogen Silicone Wire and Cable Markers

HellermannTyton offers a range of markers and plain sleeves ideally suited for areas requiring zero halogen products.

This low fire hazard material will remain flexible even at -85ÞF (-65ÞC). Both MSLPM and MSLPLU markers are extruded

from the highest quality silicone tubing. MSLPU is a flexible flame retardant silicone rubber designed for use where the

highest safety requirements are required. MSLPM is a high grade halogen free marker for areas where such high safety

features found in MSLPU are not required. Both are high flexible and withstand very high temperatures.
