• An active cRSP connection
Desktop sharing gives the remote expert full access to the SIPIX Service Tool. Data can
also be transferred from and to the SIPIX Service Tool.
1. Wait for the remote expert's access request after the remote expert has started
desktop sharing.
2. When the remote expert's access request has been started, confirm it with the
"Accept" button.
4.1 Desktop Sharing
4.2 Collaboration Session
In the Collaboration Session voice, video, and application sharing are transferred from
browser to browser (e.g. Google Chrome) in a real time connection.
1. Double-click on the “RC-HUB” icon on the home screen to start the collaboration
software.
The "SIEMENS Remote Collaboration – Field Engineer” website pops up automatically
in the "Google Chrome” browser. This can take several minutes.
2. Wait for the return information from the remote expert ("waiting for expert").
3. Only start the session on the SIPIX Service Tools website after the remote expert’s
prompt.
The red dot in the tab signals the link build-up for the video/audio session. When the
red dot lights up continuously, the collaboration session can begin. If the red dot does
not appear, no audio/video source is available to the Google Chrome browser. Check
Google Chrome content settings.
4. Click on the “Start Session" button. The remote expert will see the live stream of the
SIPIX Service Tool.
Note
If the SIPIX Service Tool is not used for a certain time, the browser with the remote
collaboration closes automatically due to data security and data protection
requirements. In this case, repeat the above steps.
