Change in TrilithIC product portfolio
BTS7800K / BTS781GP
- update -
Dear Customer,
during the last year we offered the BTS7800K as standard replacement for BTS780GP and
BTS780GP-2. Our intention was to have the same pin out of BTS7800K and the other TrilithICs
BTS7710GP and BTS7750GP.
Therefore BTS7800K requires a different PCB layout than the BTS780GP.
In order to make a replacement of BTS780GP easier in existing projects we offered the same
chip as BTS7800K with a pin out compatible to BTS780GP PCB layouts called BTS781GP.
Following the feedback of our customers, who ordered mainly BTS781GP, we decided not to
release BTS7800K. The standard replacement for BTS780GP and BTS780GP-2 is therefore
now BTS781GP. All features of BTS781GP are identical to the features of BTS7800K. Also
open load detection in off state is implemented. In addition to that a separated status output for
each high side switch is offered. With these 2 changes, the BTS781GP is identical to
BTS780GP in all main features.
The time schedule of the project remains unchanged.

Diagnosis: Open load in off state available.
Open load detection in on state removed.
PWM: Clearly improved PWM behavior - No cross currents
up to VBB=36V / 20kHz
Quiescent current: Reduced from 30 to 8µA
Current limitation: Slightly increased current limitations allow use with stronger
motors (stall current) without severe impact to PCP
Over-voltage Removed in BTS781GP
lockout:
RDSon: Slightly reduced RDSon allows use with stronger motors
