AFL offers high

fiber optic attenuators
AFL Telecommunications buildout style attenuators
provide superior performance for all single-mode
BOA attenuation requirements. These attenuators
have been engineered to supply high performance
with stable attenuation values at a low cost.
Standard attenuation values are 5, 10, 15 and 20 dB.
AFL buildout attenuators are available in SC and FC
connector styles.
AFL buildout attenuator designs use no air gap,
filters or light path discontinuities. Attenuation is
achieved by controlled absorption of light energy.
This results in a polarization insensitive device
with high power handling capability, environmen-
tally stable and exceptionally responsive across a
wide bandpass range. AFL buildout attenuators are
designed to meet Bellcore GR-NWT-000910.
SPECIFICATIONS
• Standard Attenuation Values: 5, 10, 15 and 20 dB
• Attenuation Tolerance: Standard at 10%
• Operating Temperature Range: -50° to +50° C
• Non-operating Temperature Range: -40° to +75° C
• Vibration resistance: <0.1X attenuation value
• Back Reflection: -55dB in Ultra Polish (UPC)
-60dB in Angle Polish (APC)
