1. SCOPE
1.1. Content
This specificati on covers performance, tests and qualit y r equirements for the T yco Electronics QMA
snap-on mating style coax ial connect or. This connector mates w hen finger s on the outer contact of the
pl ug snap over a step on the jack housing. Pul ling back on t he outer housing of the plug opens the
fingers which r eleases the connector .
1.2. Qualification
When tests are per formed on the subject product line, procedures specified in Figure 1 shall be used.
Al l inspections shall be performed using the applicable inspection plan and pr oduct drawing.
1.3. Qual ification Test Results
Successful qualificati on testing on the subject product line was complet ed on 26Sep03. T he
Qual ification Test Repor t number for this testing is 501-572. This documentation is on f ile at and
available from Engineering Pr actices and St andards ( EPS).
2. APPLICABLE DOCUM ENTS
The following documents f orm a part of this specif icati on to the ext ent specif ied herein. Unless otherw ise
speci fied, the latest edition of the document applies. In the event of conflict betw een the requirements of
this specification and the product dr awing, the product drawing shall t ake precedence. In the event of

4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1. Qual ification Testing
A. Specimen Sel ection
Speci mens shall be prepared in accordance with applicable Instruct ion Sheets and shall be
sel ected at random from current production. All test groups shall each consist of a minimum of 5
specimens.
B. Test Sequence
Qual ification inspection shall be verified by testing specimens as specified in Figure 2.
4.2. Requal ification Testing
If changes signif icantl y af fecting form, fit or f unction ar e made to the product or manufacturing process,
product assurance shall coordinate requalif icati on testing, consisting of all or part of the original testing
sequence as deter mined by development/product, quality and reliab ility engineering.

4.3. Acceptance
Acceptance is based on veri ficat ion that the product meets the requirements of Figur e 1. Failures
att ribut ed to equipment, test setup or operator def iciencies shall not disqualify the product. If product
failure occurs, corrective action shall be taken and specimens resubmitt ed for qualif icati on. T esting to
confirm corrective action is required befor e resubmi ttal.
4.4. Qual ity Conformance Inspection
The applicable quality inspection plan shall specify the sampling acceptable quality level t o be used.
Di mensional and functional r equirements shal l be in accordance w ith the applicable product drawing and
this specification.
