Dual 31-band Graphic Equalizers, 31-band Virtual Para-graphic Equalizers and 10-
band Parametric
Naturally, the DEQ2496 has a phase-neutral digital graphic EQ. But in addition, we’ve added a function that
allows you to change the frequency bandwidths from 1/3, to as tight as 59/3. Or, if you prefer the old-
school approach to variable bandwidth, we’ve included 10-bands of parametric lters that can be
incrementally ne-tuned all the way down to 1/60 of an octave.

DEQ2496
From time to time I required something to reduce and eliminate feedback for wedding ceremony events.
The worst thing to have is feedback during the "I do" part of the ceremony. In tight conned indoor
locations this product gave me the needed headroom for microphone gain before feedback. It also
provided EQ analysis for room PA sound and music playback. The real time analyzer functions comes in
handy as well as the choices for metering and bar graph displays of audio signals. Technically it takes a bit
of time to learn how to use this product. I'm still learning so plan on playing and experimenting with the
product before going live. Of course the live experiences are valuable learning sessions too but not the
feedback. I did notice that the LCD display seems to icker at various contrast setting. I thought perhaps
this was a problem with my unit but the replacement did the same. It would be great if Behringer resolves
that issue someday. All in all its amazing what this product does for the price point.

Complex to use, but highly eective and sonically transparent
Title says it all. I bought this to make some nal tweaks to in-room response after doing as much as I could
with tube traps and other room treatments. The DEQ2496 was complex and it took me a while to gure out
all the right settings to make it work. But when it did, it worked perfectly. I bench tested it with test signals
both pass-through and through parametric EQ, it introduced no harmonic or intermodulation distortion.
That's No. Distortion. At. All. This is in pure digital mode between my source and DAC, so I'm not using the
DEQ2496's on-board DAC. Some here say it runs hot, but mine does not even after hours of continuous
operation. Perhaps that's because I'm using only optical in and out, bypassing its DA-AD converters, or
maybe Behringer improved it. If you're an experienced audio geek, this box does exactly what it says and it
does it well. But its complexity is not for the casual user or the faint of heart. More detail here. [...]
