Virtual Wire® Development Kits
DR1001B2-1-DK 433.92 MHz
DR1002B2-1-DK 916.50 MHz
Introduction
RFM’s DR-Series Virtual Wire® Development Kits
are tools for evaluating the feasibility of low power
wireless data communications applications. The Kits
also facilitate actual system development. Kit modules,
such as the radio transceiver boards, are available sepa-
rately from RFM for use in customer end products.
Each Development Kit Contains:
•Two data radio transceiver boards
•Two host protocol boards
•Two reference antennas
•Two sets of batteries
•3.5 floppy disk with example application software
•Manual
Each Virtual Wire Development Kits Include These Key Features:
•“Out-of-the-box” operation between two PCs
•3V low-current UHF data radio transceivers
•Excellent receiver off-channel interference rejection
•Receiver AGC for resistance to on-channel interference
•3V low-current protocol boards based on an Atmel AT89C2051 microcontroller
•On-board 3V logic to RS232C level conversion with bypass provisions for direct 3V
logic interface
•Packet link-layer protocol with ISO3309 error detection and automatic packet retrans-
mission; up to 32 message bytes per packet (ASCII or binary)
•DC-balanced data coding for stable RF transmission performance
•Simple protocol-to-application interface plus example application software
•Diagnostic LEDs for system performance evaluation
•Up to 15 different node addresses supported; jumper programmable
•Battery or external 3V operation
