AMP-O-LECTRIC Model G
Terminating Machine
The Model “G” is the most advanced
design in the long-standing series of
AMP-O-LECTRIC machines for terminat-
ing wire using reeled terminals and con-
tacts. It features a reliable direct motor
drive system. Its modular construction
also enables us to provide versions for
use either as bench-top units, or in com-
bination with fully-automatic lead-mak-
ing equipment.
For operator convenience, we’ve
improved access to, and lighting in the
target area, and moved the Crimp
Quality Monitor (CQM) to eye level for
bench-top use. The Model “G” is also
quieter, plus improved guarding meets
applicable European and domestic safe-
ty requirements.
All Model “G” versions include precision
adjustment for crimp height an impor-
tant feature, which, in combination with
the optional CQM, will enable you to
maintain the tight tolerances required
for today’s demands for higher levels of
quality. By simply resetting a dial, an
operator can adjust crimp height in
.0005 [0.013] increments over a .018
[0.457] range. When used with CQM,
automatic adjustment is also available.
Another user-friendly feature is its con-
trol system. At the push of a button, you
can power the motor on or off, jog for-
ward or reverse, switch to split-cycle
operation, turn the work light off or on,
power the air feed on or off, or reset the
batch counter. And, it’s all reported on
an LCD display. The controls will also
detect and report errors in the machine,
and stop cycling when a bad crimp is
detected by the CQM. The operator
must then push the reset button to con-
tinue.
The Model “G” will accept all existing TE
miniature applicators, with minor modifi-
cations. See Applicator Instructions 408-
8053, Conversion Guide for TE Miniature
Quick-Change Applicators, for details.
Most of our existing applicators may be
used for crimp quality monitoring on
versions equipped with CQM and CQM
G-Adapter. To use CQM for Tab-Lok,
FASTON flag terminals, a CQM hinge-bar
applicator is required. You can’t use
CQM to monitor the application of
closed-barrel pre-insulated terminals.

For crimp quality monitoring using Model “G” Machine versions equipped with CQM G-Adapter, order, in
addition, CQM Monitor Assembly P/N 1320420-2, plus CQM Interface Kit P/N 1320431-2. Regular TE minia-
ture applicators may be used with this system. To use CQM applicators, you also require Sensor Cable
Assembly P/N 354452-2. For CQM-Jr., order P/N 318483-1 (120 VAC) or 318483-2 (220 VAC). CQM-Jr. does
not support automatic precision adjust.
To equip older Model “G”s with CQM G-Adapter requires Field Engineering Service assistance. Call the
Technical Support Center for more information at 1-800-522-6752.

The combination of the Stripping
Module with the AMP-O-LECTRIC
Model G Terminator provides an
economical and proficient
method of stripping wire and
crimping terminals on the same
machine. Wires are stripped
moments before crimping, mean-
ing there is virtually no chance of
damaging wire conductors dur-
ing handling or storage. Once the
wire is fed into the start sensor
the Stripping Module does the
rest, improving placement accu-
racy. Order Catalog 1309085 for
more information. In the interest of continuous improvement, TE reserves the
right to modify, discontinue, or replace any products.
